Lancaster wildflowers - April 2009

Time for the spring trip to see the Antelope Valley wildflowers again. Either we were a bit late or the poppy season wasn't as good this year as last year. It was still beautiful, but not as much orange and purple - more yellows. We were somewhere outside of Lancaster near the poppy reserves.

It was extremely windy that day and the white brush and Joshua trees against the yellows on the ground and the blue of the sky was otherworldly. Also, this was relatively close to some housing and there was a surprisingly large amount of trash strewn about. Some of it looked like it had been there a long time.

Then we moved closer to the reserve. There were a lot of people around, but interestingly, less trash. ;-)
